This is the front of the new office building. It is lovely to have work space separate from the kiddos but we really miss their noise.
Our beautiful interior is waiting for you if you want to enroll in person. We would love to see you!
The gate leading into the fenced courtyard was a gift from the builders and we adore it. Thank you!
The new outdoor bathrooms were a big hit this summer.
The covered pavilion provides shade and a cool spot to have snack or to complete crafts and activities. The handwashing stations make clean up a breeze.
We are constructing a smaller building with offices in the front, outdoor bathrooms, covered pavilion and handwashing stations in the back for the children's use. We hope these extra feature will help with new practices and safety protocols as we look forward to a fun summer while still staying safe and healthy!
Our new location is complete and we are all moved in and loving the new space.
Mayor Ralph Arnold had this council fire ring built in 1934 for Camp Fire Girls and other groups, shortly after his daughter, Lucile, age 12, died. She had been an active member of the Camp Fire Girls at Paxson School. Lucile's Camp Fire friends dedicated the council ring to her and planted 12 juniper trees in a circle around the ring. Camp Fire groups from Paxson, Franklin and Jefferson rededicated the ring in 1971 replacing trees and repairing the fireplaces.
While the ceremonial circle and fireplaces are no longer standing the tribute to Lucile remains, as do many of the Juniper trees planted in her honor.
We are thrilled to be connecting with our history at Franklin Park and to the children at Franklin Elementary. It means the world to us that we will be a closer part of this community once again.
